Itinerary: Our journey begins in Fez, where we’ll travel through the fertile Sais plains, known for their rich agricultural land. As we ascend into the Middle Atlas Mountains, we’ll make our first stop at Imouzer, a charming town famous for its Apple Festival in September. Imouzer is also known for its picturesque lakes, formed by ancient volcanic activity.
Next, we’ll continue our journey to Ifrane, often referred to as the “Switzerland of Morocco” due to its clean, green environment and alpine-style architecture. Known for its snow in the winter, Ifrane offers a refreshing escape during the summer months. We’ll also explore Ifrane National Park, home to a large population of Barbary apes and dense cedar forests.
Our final stop is Azrou, a town whose name means “rock” in Tamazight, named after the large rock located near the central mosque. Azrou is surrounded by expansive cedar forests, perfect for nature enthusiasts and hikers. The town’s vibrant market is well-known for its local handicrafts.
After a day full of exploration and nature, we’ll return to Fez in the evening.
